No more trial-and-error when choosing an electrolyte for metal-air batteries

Shri

My recent paper on non-heuristic criteria for selecting potassium-oxygen battery electrolytes, co-authored with WashU undergraduate summer intern Joshua Kahky and Prof. Vijay Ramani, was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America. The criteria provided in this paper and the associated simple measurements will accelerate the development of suitable electrolytes for high power potassium oxygen batteries and enable the transition beyond lithium ion batteries.

It is extremely gratifying to see the coverage of this in the popular press and in chemical industry newsletters.
